Kusadasi Castle

Pigeon Island (Güvercinada) was a major military base for the Venetians and the Ottomans during their era. It was given a full reconstruction in 1834. This is when its famous castle was built which is now home to panoramic views and the skeleton of a whale which was washed ashore in the Millipark in 1998. The name Kusadasi meaning Bird Island- originates from this castle.

Pigeon Island is connected to the mainland with a pathway running alongside fishing ships and gulet boats. Its romantic setting includes two restaurants sporting stunning sea views, as well as providing visitors with a breathtaking outlook on the whole town of Kusadasi itself. It is the perfect location to enjoy the awe-inspiring summer sunsets.
